Cowboy Clean Fuels’ (CCF) innovative Biomass Carbon Removal and Storage Plus Renewable Natural Gas (BiCRS+RNG) methodology leverages coal bed methane (CBM) reservoirs as natural bioreactors for the conversion of biomass into renewable natural gas (RNG) and the permanent sequestration of carbon dioxide (CO₂). Utilizing indigenous microorganisms, the injected biomass undergoes anaerobic digestion within the coal reservoirs, generating RNG that can be produced along with CO₂ that is permanently sequestered absorbed onto the coal surfaces. This process ensures a net reduction of greenhouse gases (GHGs) while creating a viable source of renewable energy.
